About us
As an independent non-profit organisation, Ronald McDonald Kinderhilfe operates under the Ronald McDonald Haus Österreich brand. We build and provide accommodation for families with sick or injured children close to hospitals. We currently operate several Ronald McDonald Houses across Austria.
Our values and principles are not abstract concepts, but an attitude we put into practice. They guide our daily conduct, our decisions and the way we work together, both in direct contact with families and in our organisational and strategic work. This creates a culture in which compassion, respect and responsibility are not merely stated, but demonstrated every day.
Ronald McDonald Haus Österreich is supported by a dedicated team: Around 40 employees and approximately 100 volunteers are committed to providing families with the best possible support during challenging times. By working together, our employees and volunteers make the Ronald McDonald Houses reliable partners for families with ill or injured children.
Ronald McDonald Haus Österreich Head Office
Our Head Office team in Vienna coordinates the organisation’s operational and administrative activities, from the Executive Board, Marketing & PR and central Fundraising and Development to data, event and financial management.
Ronald McDonald Houses
Each of our Houses has a clear structure and is professionally organised. Each House is led by a House Manager, supported by the Deputy House Manager, House Operations Assistants and housekeeping assistants. In addition, volunteers make a valuable contribution to daily operations.

Our organisation funds both the construction and the ongoing operation of the Ronald McDonald Houses exclusively through donations. The Austrian Donation Seal of Approval confirms that we handle the donations entrusted to us carefully and responsibly.
A significant proportion of these donations comes from McDonald's Austria, its franchisees, partner companies and guests. In addition, numerous private donors, dedicated volunteers and companies make a vital contribution to maintaining and developing our services for families with ill or injured children in the long term. Donations to Ronald McDonald Haus Österreich are tax-deductible.
The articles of association form the legal and organisational basis of our non-profit organisation. They clearly define our objectives, responsibilities and structures and ensure transparency and reliability in our daily work. As a binding framework, the articles ensure that all of the organisation’s activities are carried out responsibly, efficiently and sustainably in keeping with our mission of supporting families with ill or injured children.
Ronald McDonald Haus Österreich and McDonald's are not a single organisation. Our connection with McDonald's Austria and its franchisees is based on a significant partnership spanning several decades.
Ronald McDonald Kinderhilfe operates under the Ronald McDonald Haus Österreich brand and is an independent non-profit organisation. McDonald's Austria makes an important contribution to our work and helps safeguard our services for the long term.
