McDonald's Austria
McDonald’s is our “founding and forever partner” and a long-standing supporter of Ronald McDonald House. Since the first Ronald McDonald House opened in Philadelphia (USA) in 1974, McDonald’s employees, franchisees, suppliers and guests around the world have supported our mission through donations, their time and personal commitment.
“Give something back to the community that has given you so much.”
— Ray Kroc, founder of McDonald's
McDonald’s founder Ray Kroc’s conviction forms the foundation of the company’s global social commitment. It remains a central part of the company’s philosophy to this day. McDonald’s contributes around a quarter of Ronald McDonald House’s global donation income each year.
Since our organisation was founded in Austria in 1987, McDonald’s Austria has supported us in providing families with ill or injured children with a home away from home close to the hospital.
Through a wide range of initiatives, campaigns and donations from franchisees and guests, McDonald’s helps us support families. The focus is on the child’s medical care as well as the well-being of the entire family. Because when a child is ill or injured, the whole family needs closeness, reassurance and support.

A partnership in action
When McDonald’s franchisees and employees visit our Ronald McDonald Houses, they see first-hand how their commitment helps families with ill or injured children.
We also regularly visit McDonald’s restaurants to talk about our work, thank teams in person and celebrate our meaningful partnership. These personal encounters demonstrate the strength of our partnership with McDonald’s Austria!
