Ronald McDonald Haus Salzburg

Modern wooden building with large windows and balconies in a green environment

Ronald McDonald Haus Salzburg, our fourth House in Austria, opened in January 2022 on the grounds of University Hospital Salzburg Campus LKH. It provides space for 16 families whose children are receiving treatment at the hospital or at eb-Haus Austria.

The House has bright communal areas, including a spacious dining area, an inviting lounge and a cosy playroom. These spaces offer comfort and support and provide opportunities to meet other families and our team. At the same time, the House offers numerous places to retreat and find peace and relaxation. The spacious family rooms have several sleeping options and their own bathroom. As a home away from home close to the hospital, the House provides families with a familiar environment.

Florian Hoffmeister

House Manager

“Listening to parents who are worried, giving them time and attention during difficult periods, and offering individual support in the way they need it most can be challenging, but it is also deeply rewarding in my day-to-day work. Often, it is the little things—a coffee, a sofa or a listening ear—that help families pause for a moment and regain their strength. Being able to offer this together with my appreciative colleagues makes every day special and enriches my life.”

Angelika Dötzlhofer

Deputy House Manager

“Being able to accompany and support families on a difficult journey, and to listen whenever they do not know what to do next, is one of the most meaningful tasks I can imagine. At first, many families feel overwhelmed and unsure whether they can cope with the challenges they face. It is wonderful to respond to each person’s individual needs and see families leave Ronald McDonald Haus Salzburg feeling stronger and ready to take their next steps back into everyday life.”

Thalita Thalmayr
