St. Anna Children's Hospital
Centre for Paediatrics and Adolescent Medicine
As Austria’s largest treatment centre for children and adolescents with cancer, St. Anna Children’s Hospital in Vienna specialises in haematological and immunological conditions. Children and adolescents with acute and chronic conditions are treated here, with prevention, sustainable treatment and education for patients and their caregivers all included.
With its friendly, colourful wards and playrooms, St. Anna Children’s Hospital is ideally adapted to the special needs of children and adolescents. A familiar team of doctors, nurses and psychologists aims to make every stay as pleasant and stress-free as possible.
The hospital has a total of eight wards equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and technology. Alongside medical treatment and nursing care, its care concept also includes psychosocial support for patients and their families.
Ronald McDonald Haus Wien Kinderspitalgasse is an important complement to St. Anna Children’s Hospital. It gives families a protected space close to the hospital where they can find peace and receive important support during often lengthy treatment periods. The close connection between St. Anna Children’s Hospital and Ronald McDonald Haus Wien Kinderspitalgasse creates a comprehensive support network that significantly improves the quality of life of children, adolescents and their families during recovery.
“The specialisation of St. Anna Children's Hospital in haematological, oncological and immunological conditions, together with our stem cell transplantation department, brings many families from across Austria and other countries to our hospital for treatment. Our long-standing, close cooperation with Ronald McDonald Haus Österreich enables these families to find affordable, comfortable accommodation close to the hospital that meets medical requirements. The Ronald McDonald House team provides sensitive and professional support to families throughout the difficult and challenging period of their child's treatment. We are very grateful for this service!”
